Circular Ballarat

Circular Economy Ballarat
Circular Ballarat

Ballarat has been on a journey for more than 10 years to build its commitment and capacity towards a circular economy.

Our City is committed to a zero emissions target for its own operations by 2025, and by 2050 Ballarat aims to be a leader in the development of restorative and regenerative systems.

We see our future as a carbon neutral city and a leader in renewable energy systems, with thriving collaboration across industries, systems and business models to secure our future sustainability and protect our planet.

We proudly support innovation and collaboration across sectors and within business and encourage and facilitate investment in circular enabling technologies and skills development in our workforce.

The City of Ballarat is an advocate to both the State and Federal governments and agencies for circular regulations, incentives and investment. We also actively seek to contribute to regulation and policy reviews and development.

Our team welcomes the opportunity to speak to you about opportunities in this rapidly changing and expanding area.

The City of Ballarat acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land we live and work on, the Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung People, and recognises their continuing connection to the land and waterways. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
